Week 4: Beaded Cording and Beaded Toppers

Hi All!

This week is so fun.

These techniques are great for ornaments that you want to add an additional ornate feature. What I really like about it: these are two techniques you can go back and apply to any finished project you have. So if you feel like any of your projects need a little extra oomph, this would be a way to do it.

If you've beaded before on your needlepoint projects, this will probably feel pretty comfortable for you (and if you've done beading in the past, this is an excuse to use that stash!)

Hi Amanda, I am behind in watching videos. Will they continue to be available?

Credit for Classes

Amanda, I've listened to all of your videos but only Week 1 shows that I've completed any steps. Am I missing something?

Also, I'm not able to access the May 25 video. It shows up in the list but there's nothing there.

Enjoying the classes a lot. Your explanations make it "not so scary"!

Lessons this week

Hi there - Sounds like a few folks haven't been able to access this week's lessons (and the scheduled email didn't go out on Sunday). My sincere apologies!

I will work on getting everything re-situated tomorrow. The lesson on beading is a fun one, and I'm excited to see what you create. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I still haven’t been able to access the lesson. Was wondering if it has been posted.

Week 2 is Live! Calculating your thread & Playing with scale

Hi there, this week is all about calculating your thread and scale for your project. Below, we talk about both calculating the length and calculating the thickness. I think this is a matter of persona preference , though  I do think thinner cording is seen more in the "Shop Style" finish.

The coursework is available in the class portal or view the webpage here (the information is the same in both places to help improve accessibility to it).

Hi Amanda! Question - do the calculations account for the loss of length due to the knots at the end/taking off the jig? Thanks! 🙃
